Why NTHU?

NTHU is a prestigious university with a long history; it initially focused on the field of atomic science and then expanded to science and engineering in general. Over the past few decades, NTHU has actively developed more varied fields, including liberal arts & social science, life science, electrical & information engineering, and technology management. Gradually, NTHU has become a balanced institution in the development of its literature, science, and engineering programs. Why CTM?

The College of Technology Management was founded in 2000 and was the first college in Taiwan to focus on this particular field. CTM combined technology management with an original science & engineering foundation of some prominence to develop interdisciplinary management courses and research projects. Moreover, CTM aims at combining talent oriented towards technology management with solid economic knowledge and cultivates them by comprehensive training. It identifies international trends and the latest issues, integrating faculties from management, finance, information and law.

In 2015, NTHU CTM earned AACSB international certification, the most prestigious, stringent, and widespread business education network and association, and became one of the top 5% certified universities in the world. The certification not only earned an award for CTM, but also made a  positive impact on the improvement of internationalization and research quality.

To learn the essential concepts of organizational leadership and management competencies. To enhance organization development by applying high-performance leadership and improving communication ability. To understand how in today’s conditions to navigate organization’s social responsibility, accountability, and ethics.

• Policy Making

To learn public policy analysis and assessment. To understand whether public policy solves social problems by grasping the concept of formulating public policy, including issue definition, legalization, planning, execution and evaluation and acquiring systematic analytical skills.

• Manage Financial Performance

To understand the key concepts and tools for managing an organization’s financial performance, including analytical skills. risk management, etc.

• Digital Transformation and AI Policy Making

Understanding how digital Transformation and AI influence the society and businesses, as well as public policy and government strategy.

• Law & Compliance

To learn key concepts of law and public policy.

In this course, visits to public and private sector organizations will also be arranged to enhance practical understanding. The participants can engage in dialogue with experts and scholars from the industry, the government and academia to gain insight into their practical experiences and the relevance of these to their home country. In addition, cultural visits will be scheduled so that the participants can experience the unique customs and culture of Taiwan.

Who should attend ?

  • Currently serving as a senior government officer, head of an educational institution, or supervisor of a non-governmental organization in Taiwan’s diplomatic allies.
  • Mid- or high-level supervisors who are willing to think outside the box and contribute as team players.
  • Mid- or high-level supervisors with experience of operation, leadership, and decision making for an organization.
  • Under 55 years old and with more than five years of mid- and/or high-level supervisory work and leadership experience.
  • Holders of a bachelor’s degree or above
  • Proficient in English, with good skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. A proof of English proficiency is recommended.
